Proskida is a Canadian startup tech company set on building the next generation of high performance training devices for nordic skiers. Their plan is simple, bring real-time performance measurement tools to cross country skiing, in a wearable technology format. Make IT was selected by the company’s founders to create a unique app that would give users dynamic, real-time insights into each and every training session.

During early planning and ideation sessions with the client, we decided to get intimate with the every aspect of product development to ensure project success, from custom software engineering to product prototype development. Says Make IT CTO, David Larkin: “Our efforts went beyond app creation, our team leapt head first into the nitty gritty details, … soldering components, fitting the sensors into the pole grips, testing and retesting the sensitivity, accuracy, and effectiveness of the device.” 

Our team was inspired by the unique requirements for this project because of the play / activity element to the development of the technology (we had fun). And our client is delighted with the earlier than expected results. The Proskida system is now in beta testing with Team Canada, Team BC, with 4 other groups interested nationally and internationally. Here’s what they had to say:

First off, special thanks for all the work you (Make IT) have done to help us get from an idea in mid-December, to a prototype in March.
